The most effective craps strategy: placing your bets on bets that pay off

Our first craps strategy seems to go without saying, and yet few players apply it. During your games, it is important to carefully choose the types of craps bets you will invest in after the come-out roll. You will need to concentrate on where the house advantage is weakest. For example, the “Don’t Pass” bet or the pass line bet are the options that offer the best chances to the craps player. The casino’s advantage over the “Don’t Pass” bet is only 1.36% and the latter earns you the stake of the bet, so this is one of the more interesting options.

Other bets of the “Proposition Bets”, “Big 6” or “Big 8” type give you less chance of generating a profit: avoid them!

Craps Strategy: The Best Bets

As a rule of thumb, the best bets you can make in craps are ‘Pass‘ bets, ‘Don’t Pass‘ bets, Come Bets, and no-Come Bets. If you stick to it, the house advantage will only hover around 1.40%. In addition, placing ‘Odds Bets‘ will allow you to reduce it further. There are also ‘Place Bets‘ on 6 or 8 or even ‘Field Bets‘ on 2 or 12.

The other types of craps bets are not of great interest. Let’s not be afraid of words: some bets are downright catastrophic. For example, some ‘Hardways‘ offer an 11% profit margin to the house! In other words, if you want to use a paid approach craps strategy, place bets intended to reduce the house edge and avoid bets on single throws even if they are attractive!

Craps strategy: ‘Pass’ bets and ‘Venue’ bets

One of the basic strategies in craps is to ‘bet on a win‘. In other words, place ‘Pass’ bets and come bets, which are among the most profitable bets in the casino world, both land and virtual, due to the house’s low-profit margin, fixed at 1.41%.

In craps, the ‘Pass’ bet is the most popular bet. There are only 4 ways to lose it. You will lose your bet if the player rolls a 2, 3, 12 on the come-out roll or rolls a 7 after establishing a point. See our table of dice combinations below for more information on the odds of success.

The Come bet, on the other hand, works the same way as a ‘pass’ bet. The only difference is that it takes place after the initial roll of the dice and the establishment of a point. You win if the shooter rolls a 7 or 11 after placing the come bet and lose if he rolls a 2, 3, or 12.

Craps strategy against the victory: ‘Don’t Pass’ bets and ‘No Show’ bets

While it is possible to bet on a victory, nothing prevents you from adopting the opposite reasoning and betting on a loss. Players place bets ‘against’ those who have placed ‘Pass’ bets and come bets. In other words, you will win where others lose, and vice versa. In land-based casinos, this type of bet can create havoc when it comes to redistributing winnings. This kind of problem does not arise in online casinos due to the automation of the games. The house’s profit margin for this type of bet drops to 1.36%.

The ‘Do Not Pass’ bet is the opposite case to the ‘Pass’ bet. You win if the shooter rolls a 2 or a 3, if there is a tie (‘stand-off’) if the player rolls a 12 (no one wins), and you lose if the shooter rolls a 7 or an 11. According to the same logic that the bet of ‘Pass’, if the player totals 4, 5, 6, 8, 9 or 10, we say that he establishes a ‘point’ and the round continues. If he redoes this point before getting a 7, the bet is won. Otherwise, the stake is lost.

The no-show bet is opposed to the come bet. Again, it can only be done after the come-out roll and the establishment of a point. The no-show bet is won if the shooter rolls a 2 or 3 and is lost if he rolls a 7 or 11. If he rolls a 12, there is a tie. If the shooter rolls a completely different number, the point is established. You will win the no-show bet if he rolls a 7 before he can make his point.

The ‘Odds Bets’ – betting on the odds

There is also a type of craps bet that reduces the house edge to heartache. After establishing a point, you have the option of placing an additional bet ‘on the odds’. As a rule, it is two to three times the initial bet. By placing it, you assume that the point will be reestablished before the appearance of a 7. You can also place ‘Odds Bets’ on ‘Do Not Pass’ bets and on ‘No Coming’ bets. In addition, the more you can place odds bets, the more the profit margin of the house decreases.

The ‘Field Bets’

Field Bets will do the job well for players who cannot resist the temptation to place a single throw bet. Note that the house’s profit margin for this type of bet is still 5.56%. It is therefore significantly higher than the aforementioned conventional bets. It is also an easy bet to remember. You can place a bet on 2, 3, 4, 9, 10, 11 and 12. The most profitable numbers are 2 and 12. Indeed, they offer an odds of 2 to 1. , or even 3 against 1 in some casinos.

The ‘Place Bets’ on 6 and 8

Although these are not the best bets in the game, they will do business with players who wish to place a bet on 6 or 8. The house profit margin on this type of bet is 1, 52% where it points to 9.09% for the Big 6 and the Big 8.

Craps Strategy: Poor yield bets - 'Sucker Bets'

Although some bets have particularly attractive payout rates, keep in mind that they will be associated with a very prohibitive house advantage! If you miss the boat, you run the risk of damaging your bankroll! Avoid the Big 6 and Big 8 at all costs, the house’s profit margin peaks at 9.09% for odds of 1 to 1. The ‘Place 6’ and ‘Place 8’ bets are much more profitable and pay out. 7 against 6! The ‘Hardways’ bets on the 4, 6, 8 and 10 and their house advantage of almost 10% are also to be shelved.

As fun and tantalizing as they may sound, just avoid ‘Proposition Bets’ if you don’t intend to break the bank on a roll of the dice. Even though the odds can climb to 30 to 1, the house advantage is just as dizzying! Stay as far away as possible from the following bets: ‘Any Craps’, ‘Any 7’, ‘Any Eleven’, ‘Craps Eleven’, ‘Any 2 & 12’ and ‘Any 3’.

One of the most profitable craps strategies: choosing variations to your advantage

Another craps strategy that should not be overlooked is the choice of the variant. If you’ve ever looked into the subject, you know that there isn’t one game of craps, but several versions. The rules may vary concerning pass line bets, some scores may be ignored and replayed … In short, the variations are numerous and may give you access to a simpler operation or on the contrary to spice up your games. But if the rules change, your winning percentages too!

It’s not just about figuring out how to win at craps but also knowing how to choose the right variation. Our advice: stick to the basic version of the game offering a house edge of only 1.14% , or Hight Point Craps with 2.35%. Crapless Craps is to be avoided: the advantage climbs to no less than 5.38% …

Become an outstanding launcher on hard-core casinos with the technique developed by Sharpshooter

Want to be Sean Connery classy at the famous dice roll scene in the great James Bond “Diamonds Are Forever” ? So following the craps strategy of the famous Sharpshooter might just be the solution. In his book “Get the Edge at Craps – How to Control the Dice” (which would be translated as “Gain the Edge in Craps – How to Control the Dice “), he explains how to subtly roll the dice on a craps table. , in order to obtain a predefined result.

The thrower must therefore train in order to perfectly master – to the nearest millimeter – each movement. This technique will of course be useless online, but if you are a land-based casino lover, why not try to implement it?

Last of our craps strategy tips: keep your head on your shoulders and manage your budget

Craps is a game of chance. So it could happen that you lose large sums in a very short time, especially if you are not careful with the way you bet and if you mismanage your money. There is, therefore, no need to increase the bet if you want to recover all the money you have lost.

One of the most overlooked craps tips is keeping control over your budget. Better always bet the same amount. Chance decides in this game, so it may decide to turn in your favor. Finally, the advantage of playing Craps is above all to have fun during the game. It doesn’t matter if you lose a little bit of money.

It is recommended not to bet more than 1 / 20th of your maximum bankroll per bet. But if you want to minimize your risk of losing even more, you can go up to 1 / 50th of your bankroll. It also gives you an extra chance to win, even if you are starting out poorly. You also minimize the risk of lowering your bankroll too early.

The most obvious, but often the least respected strategy is to stay calm. This applies to all games, and more particularly when there is money at stake. Playing under pressure inevitably leads to mistakes and therefore to the reduction of your bankroll.

Craps Strategy: odds and payouts

Before you tackle the chapter devoted to payout, you must take the time to discover the different ways to get a particular number, especially in a game like craps where you have to place bets on a roll of the dice. The payout of winnings is a corollary of the probability of exiting certain numbers and certain combinations. If you have a genuine interest in craps, check out our chart below for a general overview.

The Count Method 5 - An Alternative Craps Strategy

You might as well point out straight away that the 5-Count Craps Method or ‘5-Count Craps Method’ is not made for cardiac players insofar as they will have to place bets in the heat of the moment. This is a fairly straightforward strategy to practice that will allow you to minimize your losses around the table. Here are the ins and outs:

  • Count 0 – This is the ‘come out roll’. The shooter performs the initial dice roll.
  • Count 1 – The count remains blocked at 0 as long as the shooter does not establish a point on a 4, a 5, a 6, an 8, a 9 or a 10. The count, therefore, remains blocked at 0 if he performs a 2, a 3, a 7, an 11 and a 12. In other cases, it goes to 1.
  • Counts 2 to 4 – Count 1 point for each roll of the dice after establishing the point until you reach count 4, regardless of the result.
  • Account 5 – As soon as you are at account 4, the shooter must obtain a point (4, 5, 6, 8, 9 or 10) to reach account 5. Stay on account 4 if he obtains a completely different figure.
  • As soon as you get to count 5, place a bet on the table. Stick to ‘Pass’ bets, ‘Don’t Pass’ bets, come bets, no-come bets, and Odds Bets. Avoid any other risky bet!
